Machine Learning in Brazil and Around the World

Posted in:

How Is Adoption Evolving in Brazil?

The adoption of Artificial Intelligence by Brazilian companies is growing, although there is still a significant gap between companies of varied sizes.

According to the TIC Empresas 2025 survey conducted by Cetic.br, 17% of Brazilian companies with ten or more employees used some form of Artificial Intelligence technology in 2025, compared with 13% in 2024. Among large companies, with 250 or more employees, adoption reached 50%.

The survey also provides specific data on the use of Machine Learning. Among companies that used AI, 25% used Machine Learning, including deep learning, for prediction and data analysis. This percentage reached 36% among large companies.

These figures show that the use of AI is not limited to generative Artificial Intelligence. Some companies are already using models to analyze data, make predictions, and support decision-making processes.

What About the Industrial Sector?

IBGE data shows an even more significant increase among industrial companies with 100 or more employees.

Between 2022 and 2024, the percentage of industrial companies using Artificial Intelligence increased from 16.9% to 41.9%.

The result is even more significant for the electronics manufacturing industry. In 2024:

  • 72.3% of companies in the computer, electronic, and optical products sector used AI.
  • 59.3% of companies in the machinery, equipment, and electrical materials sector used AI.
  • the industrial average was 41.9%.

These figures show that sectors directly related to electronics and equipment manufacturing are among those with the highest levels of AI adoption within Brazilian industry.

It is important to note that these figures should not be directly compared with the 17% reported by TIC Empresas, as the surveys cover different populations. IBGE considers industrial companies with 100 or more employees, while TIC Empresas considers organizations with 10 or more employees.

What Is the Global Scenario Like?

The trend is also one of growth in the international market.

According to the Future of Jobs Report 2025, published by the World Economic Forum, 86% of employers surveyed expect AI and information processing technologies to transform their businesses by 2030. In the electronics sector, this expectation reaches 95%.

The report also identifies AI and Big Data among the skills expected to grow most in importance by 2030, while AI and Machine Learning specialists are among the occupations with the highest expected growth.

This indicates that the advancement of Machine Learning is not only related to the adoption of new tools. It is also changing the skills required within companies.

Conclusion

The advancement of Artificial Intelligence in Brazil and around the world points to a business landscape in which data plays an increasingly important role in corporate decisions. In this context, Machine Learning makes it possible to turn data into predictions and analyses that can support process improvements and the identification of opportunities, including in the electrical and electronics industry.

To harness this potential, companies need to go beyond acquiring tools: they must invest in data quality, team training, and clearly defined objectives for each application. Although adoption is progressing at different rates, organizations of different sizes can start with specific business challenges, assess the results, and gradually expand their use of the technology in a strategic way.
